Build a Business

Well, it wasn't quite so easy.

I started trying to learn HTML out of books and was building my first pages that way, but it was slow and pretty painful. They didn't look very good and it was really distracting me from the thing I really wanted to work on, which was writing about vegetable gardening!

If you're an internet freak what do you do? Get information from the internet of course! In this case, the internet was pretty unhelpful.

Go to your favourite search engine and type in 'website building'. Today my search engine returned 269 MILLION sites offering me information and advice on website building.

Better yet, type in 'home business' (over 2 BILLION sites) or 'internet business' (over 700 MILLION sites). So there's no shortage of information...but how good is it?

You know the old saying "You don't know what you don't know" ? Suddenly I was lost in a lingo that was meaningless to me. The internet is simple to use, but there is a ton of technology that underlies the structure. A successful website needs to be glued together with a lot of different functions.

I kept looking for more information and kept coming across 'gurus' who wanted to sell me hundreds of dollars worth of marketing know-how.

But it missed the point didn't it? I was still struggling with the technology to built the thing, I wasn't anywhere near marketing it!

And then (TA DA! Slow reveal...) I came across a product that started to make sense for me. Site Sell! provided a ton of reading material to bring me up to speed on what I didn't know, but needed to know. Then they offered a solution.
