Cucumber blossoms with small white fuzzy balls

A lot of the tiny fuzzy balls seem to start at the blossom then the whole branch dies, withers and gets hard like a dead stick. the smaller cucumbers as they set on are brown and dying. The fuzzy balls with what looks like a seed or hard thing inside are also on the blossoms.

White fuzzy balls on cucumber plants NEW
by: ~ Megan

White mold or powdery mildew is best controlled before it get a strong hold. A weekly spray or 1 part milk (any) to 9 parts water will safely control these fungi. If white mold has taken over a large area, spray twice a week and it may stop it spreading, but probably not completely remove it.
Other solutions are Hydrogen Peroxide, at 2-3 teaspoons per cup of water, or 1ΒΌ cup per 4 litres (1 gal).
Seaweed or Compost Tea
Neem Oil (from garden centres)

Best to grow fungus resistant varieties if you have the spores of white mold or any other the other fungal infections in your garden. Also don't crowd plants and grow them in the sunniest part of garden.

White Fluffy Things NEW
by: Kiwi George

Could this infestation be Spittle Bugs which are a green "blob" inside a ball of bubbles (fuzzy balls?), I have had them in the past but fortunately not since I started using seaweed as a folair spray and a root feeder. Maybe the Spittle Bugs which suck the plant juices did not like the different flavour.Hope this helps
