Preserving bean gluts

by Val

This year I had a great crop of climbing beans - Cobra, Thompson & Morgan - and couldn't find any information about how to preserve them. Do you have any advice? Preferably I'd really like to bottle them, but realise freezing is the more modern method, however, I only have a small freezer, but lots of beans!

Drying Beans NEW

I dry my extra beans, then store them in glass jars. Not sure if that helps. Good luck

Best way to save surplus bean crop NEW

Can/bottle/preserve them if you can. You will need a big pot, jars and seals an equipment. The beans, all different varieties last a long time even years which frozen beans don't. They are nice and tender and you get to eat the whole beans, not like dried beans. I have a wonderful book I follow but its very old so not sold now but find some other information on net or shops.
