String beans tops eaten

A ground hog ate the tops of my string beans.
Will they still grow or are they done for season.

Tops eaten from bean plants NEW
by: Mia

My experience with some animal, I think it was rabbits or deer, was that the beans never recovered. I re-planted and fenced and some plants still got their tops and some leaves eaten, my friend said it was probably mice or rats that got through the fencing. These later plants were larger and they didn't grow new stems but still produced a few flowers and beans.
