Black Beans damaged

by Lyric
(Las Vegas, Nevada)

I just started planting some black beans a few days ago. Well the black beans started to sprout. One of the sprouts that is still in the bean broke off the root. My question is, will the black bean still grow into a plant?

Bean seeds broken NEW
by: ~ Megan

Plant another seed. If all the roots have broken off but the shoot is still there, then maybe it's possible that a few new roots would grow, but I doubt it. Even if the poor plant managed to survive it would be so far behind that it would probably not grow strongly and produce a crop of beans for you.
