Bobbie,

You live in some of the most beautiful country on Earth. I love the East Texas Piney Woods!!

On harvesting your cantaloupes, wait until the flesh between the veins turns golden and the fruit pretty well falls off the vine when you pick it up. If you have to pull the vine to remove it, the fruit is not ripe yet.

I've harvested 10-12 melons off of 2 vines this year using this method and all have been perfect. Very juicy, sweet & ready to eat! Good luck & good eatin'!
