Corn growing again after being cut down

I thinned my corn but the stalks that were cut to the ground are growing again what do I do!

Dig up what is left in the ground, get the roots out of the ground.

Yes, gotta get them out, they will not grow into anything, just use up your water and goodness and grow little leaves. Dig out.
